Swim like a Stingray
Key Outcome:
London Swim School Safety Sequence 2 - Kick-Float-Kick (Guided)
In the “Swim like a Dolphin” stage, your child begins to take confident strokes toward independent swimming.
Building on the Rollback-and-Float foundation, children now learn our second core safety sequence, Kick-Float-Kick (Guided). This essential progression teaches swimmers to move face-down through the water using a strong kicking action, then pause to safely roll onto their back to float, rest and breathe, before continuing again. With gentle support from their instructor, your child gains the motor skills, breath control and water rhythm needed for confident aquatic movement.
Alongside structured skill-building, we introduce playful water experiences designed to encourage curiosity and self-belief. From jumping in and floating, to early underwater exploration and retrieving sinkers. By the end of this level, your little “dolphin” will be relaxed, capable and ready to advance toward true independence in the water.
What Your Child Will Learn
- Strong Kicking Technique: Developing correct leg action to build propulsion, strength and independence.
- Building Stamina: Your child will begin to swim longer distances with their Instructor’s guidance
- Underwater Confidence: Safe introduction to underwater skills through controlled play, gentle dives and water entries.
