Swim Like a Shark
Key Outcome:
London Swim School Safety Sequence 3 - Kick-Float-Kick (Independent)
At this stage, your child takes full control of their swimming journey. Having mastered the guided sequences, they are now ready to swim confidently and independently, demonstrating the Kick-Float-Kick (Independent) safety sequence with skill and assurance.
“Swim like a Shark” focuses on strength, stamina, and independence. Your child will learn how to swim longer distances without guidance, maintaining calm control over their breathing and rest. For the first time, they’ll use flippers, feeling the speed, rhythm and power that will soon come naturally.
Through fun and challenging exercises, they’ll also be introduced to knee-dives, standing dives and underwater retrieval, as well as early stroke preparation drills like push-and-glide with kicks on both front and back. By the end of this stage, your child will be confident, capable and ready to progress toward advanced swimming.
What Your Child Will Learn
- Independent Kicking & Technique: Building strength, precision and endurance through continuous, unaided swimming.
- Stamina & Control: Swimming longer distances while managing their own rest and breathing.
- Underwater Confidence: Developing diving, gliding and retrieval skills safely through structured, fun practice.
Every lesson combines safety, enjoyment and measurable progress, ensuring your child feels like a true “shark” in the water.
