Float like a Seahorse
Key Outcome:
London Swim School Key Sequence 1 - Rollback-and-float
Our Beginner Level, “Float like a Starfish,” is where your child’s journey to confident and independent swimming begins.
At this stage, the focus is on helping your child feel calm, secure and happy in the water while developing a trusted bond with their instructor. Through gentle guidance, purposeful play, and sensory-appropriate activities, your child will build essential water confidence and begin to master our first signature safety sequence, the Rollback-and-Float.
This life-saving skill teaches children how to instinctively rotate onto their back and float safely, no matter where they are in the pool. Should they ever experience an accidental entry into water, they will have the reflexes to find a safe resting position, breathe, and wait for help.
What Your Child Will Learn
- Breath Control: Building comfort and control underwater and while floating.
- Independent Safety Response: Learning how to rest and breathe by rolling onto the back in any depth of water.
- Water Experience: Practising real-world safety scenarios, including floating in light clothing, to build genuine confidence and capability.
Lessons are positive, nurturing and individually paced, ensuring every child feels supported as they discover their strength in the water.
